NEW DISCOVERY: QO4 / "QUAD-ATOMIC OXYGEN"
CONGRATULATIONS BERKANA
AS BEING "STATE OF THE ART"
PRESS RELEASE: October 18, 1999 New Oxygen Molecule Discovered
San Luis Obispo,
CA: BIO2 International, Inc., and Birmingham, AL: Connections
Group, Inc. the exclusive distributor of the premier stabilized
oxygen solution JozzerÒ Hyper-Oxygen Drops also known
as ASOÒ both in 25% & 35% strengths and as just announced
the results of a research study that confirms the existence
of a new molecule of oxygen within ASOÒ which the researchers
have named "quad-atomic oxygen™", or QO4™.
Activated Stabilized Oxygen ASOÒ, which is based upon
dissolved molecular oxygen rather than the salts of oxygen (NaClO2)
formulations. The amount of dissolved oxygen in water is usually
small (7 - 20 parts per million). Nevertheless, water is capable
of holding a greater concentration of molecular oxygen.
The purpose of this
research, which was reported by Third State Analytical on 10/5/99,
was to test the theory that ASOÒ might contain a new
molecular form of oxygen, primarily QO4™. The existence
of QO4™, which is theoretically comprised of 4 atoms of
oxygen, had never been proved or quantified prior to this research.
Oxygen is essential to the life and health of every one of the
75 trillion cells in our body. Under the influence of various
enzymes, oxygen acts with ingested carbohydrates, fats and proteins
to form ATP, the high energy storage compound that is used to
energize almost every ntracellular metabolic function and reaction,
within the mitochondria of the cells.
Conventional oxygen
testing procedures have been inconsistent and inconclusive in
determining the total free oxygen concentration in ASOÒ.
Moreover, none of these standard test procedures could identify
all of the molecular free oxygen molecules in ASOÒ. It
was theorized that ASOÒs unique characteristics of being
highly stable in solution as well as a potent anti-microbial
agent might be explained through understanding its component
structure; that is, the type or types of oxygen present in JozzerÒ
Hyper-Oxygen ASO.Ò Other oxygen molecules have been theorized
(O4, O8, O16). However, until now, no research had ever been
done to confirm or deny the existence of such molecules and
their relative stability in an aqueous (water) medium. The researchers
for this study believed that if such molecules of oxygen did
exist, then the relative molecular stability of such molecules
would most likely be greater than their O2 counterparts, perhaps
as much as four times more stable. This could explain, if QO4™
were found to exist, why it might be considerably more stable
in an aqueous solution.
Researchers tested
the ASOÒ using state-of-the-art molecular analysis equipment
and newly developed computer analytical software. Using these
tools, the researchers tested the theory at several universities
for statistical consistency. The primary analytical instrument
used in this research was the Perkins Elmer ELAN® 6000 ICP-Mass
Spectrometer. The ELAN® 6000 can assess a sample, covering
the full range of the elements in the periodic table, in less
than two minutes. The ELAN® 6000 was initially developed
to accurately measure at parts-per-trillion (PPT) detection
limits. Utilizing this ultra sensitive instrument, the research
conducted confirmed the presence of O1, O2, & QO4™
at a concentration of <0.00003 mg/L, <0.00025mg/L, and
0.23567 mg/L respectively. In other words, AO2C™ was found
to contain over 940 times as much QO4™ as O2!
The conclusions of
this study are the following:
· JozzerÒ
Hyper Oxygen ASOÒ contains a unique, previously undiscovered,
molecule of oxygen containing four atoms of oxygen in a relatively
stable configuration called "quad-atomic oxygen™",
or QO4™.
· The presence
of a significant amount of QO4™ represents a free oxygen
concentration in ASOÒ greater than 23% total oxygen by
volume in the solution. (For point of reference, hydrogen peroxide
solution commonly used as a disinfectant and antiseptic contains
3% oxygen in the form of O1).
· QO4™
represents a form of oxygen that reacts quite differently than
other forms of oxygen due to its apparent concentrated stability
in an aqueous (water) solution as well as its apparent non-toxic
properties.
· QO4™
may be the primary molecule responsible for ASOÒ's anti-microbial
disinfectant properties.
It
is the researchers' opinion that the oxygen molecules in JozzerÒ
Hyper Oxygen ASOÒ may represent a new paradigm in reactive
yet stable and safe oxygen for use in human physiology as well
as antiseptic and disinfectant applications, in a wide spectrum
of diverse industries. While the full scope and impact of the
properties of QO4™ are as yet undefined, the initial human
metabolic research and pathogenic microorganism anti-microbial
data indicates that JozzerÒ Hyper Oxygen ASOÒ
has great potential and promise to reduce disease and enhance
the health of individuals throughout the world.
Note: Berkana Oxygen-Rich product line only uses the highest
concentrations of ASOÒ at 25% * 35% strengths- known
as JozzerÒ Hyper Oxygen Drops maximum and professional
strength’s.

A BRIEF EXPLANATION
OF THE ASO® MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
Materials: USP Food
Grade Sodium Chloride (CAS 7647-14-5)
Distilled water (CAS 7732-18-5)
Equipment: HDPE Processing Tank
Rare Earth Proprietary Anodes & Cathodes
Mixer
Preparation/Process:
Triple distilled water is transferred to HDPE processing tank
where the sodium chloride is introduced to the water. The distilled
water is then agitated by the mixer until all the salt is dissolved
into ionic form.
ASO® is manufactured
in an F.D.A. approved GMP laboratory designated for the manufacturing
of dietary supplements. The process involves the disassociation
of oxygen molecules from water molecules in an electrolytic
bath containing a mixture of water and sodium chloride. A regulated
current is then applied to two proprietary composite metal electrodes.
The hydrogen gas is released and the oxygen molecules are stabilized
in the electrolytic solution containing both the ASO® molecules
and trace minerals from the sodium chloride.
The ASO® is filtered
on-line into an HDPE food grade plastic drum. Inspection and
analysis is made for product conformance and quality. Once assured
that product meets standards, the container is mechanically
sealed and stored in a cool dry place.
GMO free:
NO GMO have been
used in any phase of the manufacturing process. ASO® Activated
Oxygen is a dietary supplement manufactured in the United States
of America. To the best of our knowledge, ASO® is not derived
from genetically modified starting raw materials, or additives
that are derived from genetically modified organisms, and do
not contain detectable levels of genetically modified materials,
(known as PCR negative). It is our understanding that the EU
labeling requirements are based on the presence of detectable
levels of transgenic material. Based on this information, this
product will not, on its own, require the labeling of these
foodstuffs and food ingredients as indicated in (EC) No. 1829/2003
and (EC) No. 1830/2003, (which came into law on the 7th of November,
2003) on the authorization, labeling, and traceability of genetically
modified organisms in food and feed. This product has not been
treated with ionizing radiations (gamma rays).
The chemical structure
formula for the ASO® molecule is:
Activated Oxygen

Shelf life refers
to the average amount of time ASO® may be stored without
nutritional or organoleptic (sensory) deterioration. A food
product can deteriorate for several reasons: aging, microbiological
decay, chemical and physical degradation, texture changes, etc.
These modes of deterioration are affected by many factors, both
intrinsic (of or within the product) and extrinsic (environmental
or outside the product). Controlling processing, packaging,
handling and storing of the product can slow deterioration of
food products. BERKANA’s expiration safety date refers
to the length of time ASO® can be expected to last without
significant deterioration.
The dates assigned
to ASO® are based on intrinsic and extrinsic factors, and
determined by systematic study or empirical data. Systematic
studies are designed to simulate actual or potential storage
and handling practices of a given product and estimate shelf
life through the course of chemical and analytical testing at
specific intervals throughout the expected shelf life. Systematic
studies may also rely on accelerated testing when dealing with
ASO® with expected long shelf lives. In some cases, shelf
life evaluations can be made based on existing information,
or empirical data.
Primary shelf life
tests conducted on ASO® have been conducted by independent
laboratories on standard test microorganisms. These reports
are available, upon request, from BERKANA.
Note that neither
Hydrogen Peroxide not Chlorine Dioxide is approved for human
consumption as a dietary supplement or as a food additive by
the U.S.F.D.A. The test data described above does not, in any
way, or in any manner, recommend the use of Hydrogen Peroxide
or Chlorine Dioxide for human consumption. This information
is only proved for product stability comparisons.
